A Dual Passion for Service and Design

If you had asked five-year-old Jovan what he wanted to be when he grew up, he wouldn’t have hesitated: “A fireman!” As fate would have it, on his fifth birthday, his mom gifted him a Duplo Lego set—his very first—and it just so happened to be a fire station. That moment sparked more than just imagination. It was the quiet beginning of a dual passion: a love for the fire service and a fascination with building and design. Over time, these two worlds—service and structure—grew in parallel, eventually becoming two professional paths that continue to shape who Jovan is today.

Now, Jovan lives both of those childhood dreams. When he's not practicing architecture, he's on duty as a fireman. When he’s not fighting fires, he's designing spaces. Whether it’s responding to emergencies or designing environments that support people’s lives and work, Jovan is always solving problems—always aiming to improve the world around him.

This unique duality deeply informs the way Jovan approaches architecture. His design thinking is not just theoretical—it’s grounded in lived experience. He’s spent years wielding tools, swinging both axes and hammers, learning firsthand how buildings are constructed. That insight enables him to bridge the gap between creativity and constructability.

Clients and contractors alike often say the same thing: Jovan “gets it.” He brings a rare balance—he understands the builder’s mindset as well as the need for thoughtful, innovative design. That spirit of collaboration is at the heart of everything he does.

In the 15 years that Jovan has worked in architecture, he has worked on a variety of project types including residential design, commercial tenant improvement, civic buildings—including fire stations and emergency operations centers—detention facility improvements, church programming, and utility infrastructure upgrade projects.

Jovan founded Entero Architects with a simple but powerful belief: buildings should be designed with the whole picture in mind. Innovation shouldn’t be for fame—it should be for function, for community, and for people. At Entero, we design with intention. We think about the end users, the builders, the context, and the greater impact our spaces will have.

This is Jovan’s passion—and it’s the culture he’s cultivating at Entero Architects.
